OKLAHOMA EQUINE PROGRAMS
Oklahoma State University
is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and offers a professional Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and a B.S. in Animal Science with an Equine Emphasis.
Course work includes: Equine Science, Equine Production, Equine Evaluation, Equine Training Methods, and Internships.
The
Center for Veterinary Medicine
also houses the University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital which offers comprehensive equine care. The
College of Veterinary Medicine Ranch
conducts ongoing research and offers equine training to OSU Veterinary Students including specialty training in Reproduction and Equine Dentistry.
The Oklahoma State Veterinary Center also offers periodic seminars and symposia for horses owners and publishes a monthly
Equine Newsletter.
The University, as a land-grant university, is base for the USDA Extension 4-H Program. The University Extension site offers a number of Horse

The Oklahoma State
Women's Equestrian Team
competes intercollegiately in Hunt Seat and Western. The University's
Rodeo Team
is nationally recognized as a premier program and has competed intercollegiately for over sixty years.
Connors State College
is located in Warner, Oklahoma, and is a SPOTLIGHT SCHOOL.
Redlands Community College
is located in El Reno, Oklahoma, and offers offers an A.S. in Agriculture with an Equine Science Emphasis and an A.A.S. in Equine Science.
Course work includes: Equine Science, Basic Equine Care and Training, Equine Nutrition and Health, Equine Breeding and Management, Horsemanship, Equine Judging, Equine Anatomy and Physiology, and an Equine Industry Internship. Suggested additional studies include: Farm Financial Records, Advanced Equine Judging, Microcomputers in Agriculture, and Specialized Equine Training I-II.
Some course work may be completes at the
Mid-Amercica Technology Center
located in Wayne, Oklahoma. Course may also be taken by current high school juniors and seniors with qualifying grades.
Redlands Community College offers a competive Equestrian Team and Horse Judging Team.
Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College
is located in Miami, Oklahoma, and offers an A.A.S. in Equine and Ranch Management.
Course work includes: Equine Selection, Equine Reproduction, Basic and Advanced Horseshoeing, Basic Horsemanship, Equine Health and Disease, Equine Training Management I-II, Equine Selection, Agri-Ranch Records and Finance, and Microcumputer Techniques in Agriculture.
The College offers an
Equine Judging Team
and
Rodeo Team.
Southern Nazarene University
is located in Bethany, Oklahoma, and offers a Minor in Equine Studies.
Course work includes: Equine Anatomy, Equine Physiology, Equine Reproduction, Equine Nutrition, Equine Facilities Management, and Elementary/Intermediate Horsemanship I-II.
