NEW HAMPSHIRE EQUINE PROGRAMS
The
University of New Hampshire
is located in Durham, New Hampshire, and offers a B.S. and A.A.S. in Equine Studiesand also offers Equine Studies as a Minor.
The B.S. degree program has three emphasis tracks: Equine Industry and Management, Therapeutic Riding, and Equine Science. The A.A.S. degree is a speciazation in Equine Management.
Course work includes: Equine Handling and Care, Equine Sports Medicine, Nutrition, Reproduction, Therapeutic Riding, Colt Training, Recreational Business Management, and Equine Competition Management.
The B.S. Program also allows students to experience study abroad with a
Classical Dressage Experience in Portugal.
The University Facilities include indoor and outdoor arenas, three competiton dressage arenas, a 52 stall barn and a cross-country course.
UNH fields a competitive
Dressage Team
and
Equestrian (Hunt Seat) Team.

River Valley Community College
is located in Claremont, New Hampshire. The College currently offers two 10-week Workshops (non-credit) in Equine Studies and Careers in the Horse World. The Equine Studies Workshop is hands-on and includes Health, Nutrition, Training and Event Preparation.
Currently (July, 2011), each Workshop is approximately $300.00. Check with the College for scheduling times. Follow this Workshop series to see if an equine Studies Program is developed at the College.
