KANSAS EQUINE PROGRAMS
Kansas State University
is a land-grant university loctaed in Manhattan, Kansas, and offers a B.S. in Animal Science with an equine emphasis. Course work includes Conformation and Performance Appraisal of Horses, Equine Enterprise Management, Equine Reproduction and Foaling, Nutrition, and Genetics.
Kansas State also offers an
Equine Certificate Program.
The University maintains a herd of approximately 70-80 Quarter Horses and operates the USDA Extendion 4-H Program.
Kansas State is completing its new
Equine Teaching and Education Center.
The Equine Center will house classrooms, indoor and outdoor arenas as well as an Equine Assisted Therapy Program.
Kansas states offers a competitive
Equestrian Team
and
Horse Judging Team.
K-State also fields a very successful and competitive Rodeo Team.
Kansas State also offers a professional DVM Degree through its College of Veterinary Medicine. The College operates the
Equine Medical Center
providing complete equine care, clinical services, reproductive, emergency care, and equine surgery.
Dodge City Community College
is located in Dodge City, Kansas, and offers an A.A.S. in Equine Science. Course work includes Equine First Aid, Principles of Breaking and Training, Breeding Management and Foal Development, Stable Management, and Internships.
The College also has an on-campus outdoor arena for its competitve Rodeo Team.
Coffeyville Community College
is located in Coffeyville, Kansas, and offers an A.A. or an A.S. in Agriculture. The course work offers specialized equine courses in Rodeo Techniques, Applied Rodeo, Animal Science and Agricultural Economics. The school facilities include a nearby equestrian center, indoor arena, and the Coffeyville Fairgrounds Arena (PRCA Sanctioned). See the

Colby Community College
is located in Colby, Kansas, and offers an A.S. and A.A.S in Equine Science as well as an A.A.S. in Horse Production and Management. Course work includes Anatomy, Nutrition, Reproduction, Equine Performance, and Management Technology.
The College also has an

and Rodeo Team.
Cloud Community College
is located in Concordia, Kansas, and offers an A.S. in Equine Industry Management and a Certificate in Equine Management. The course work includes Horse Science, Equine Care, Evaluation, Reproduction, Marketing, and Management.
